WFMW- Mildew in caulking

Today's WFMW from Shannon is a backwards version so I get to ask YOU questions! My question today is about caulk. I have this wonderful garden tub which I clean daily. The only problem is...I continually get mildew in the caulk! I can't ever seem to get it clean and it is looking like the only option is to scrape it out and start all over. Does anyone have any suggestions as to how to get the mildew out without having to replace the whole thing???

Have you tried spraying it with bleach after every shower? I have a tile shower, and I used to have problems with mildew in the caulk. Now I just start with a clean shower, and every time I get out of the shower, I spritz the wall with a little bleach/water mixture. It doesn't take much, but it seems to keep the mildew from growing there. Give it a shot!

I don't use bleach due to it being so toxic for us and the earth so I use tea tree oil mixed with water (if you want to use it, or anyone else just let me know I will find how much you mix)to kill mold. It kills more kinds of mold than bleach and is much safer!

The only thing I've tried with some success is Scrubbing Bubbles. When you spray it on, it kind of bubbles up and seems to do the work for you. My daughter had some crayon on our caulk and this product took it right out.

Thanks for your advice on the reupholstery. I am really considering some cute slipcovers at this point, if I can find some that will fit. Thanks again!
