One of the favorites around our house is French toast. However.....due to the "dietary change"...I am no longer allowed the "higher calorie" version lol. Here is what we have come up with to try and salvage one of our favorite breakfasts!
*Flour, white, 2 cup
Salt, 1/2 tsp
Cream of tartar, 1/2 tsp
Granulated Sugar, 2T
Baking Powder, 4 tsp
Applesauce, unsweetened, 1/2 cup
Milk, nonfat, .2/3c
Cinnamon sugar
spray oil

Mix together all ingredients. Knead the dough on a lightly foured surface for about 1 minute. Roll into a rectangle about 8X8 (or bigger if you like yours thinner). On a cookie sheet, spray with oil and then sprinkle with cinnamon sugar. Place dough on cookie sheet and then spray with oil and sprinkle with cinnamon sugar. Use a pizza cutter to cut into 24 "sticks." Bake for 15 minutes and serve with your favorite toppings :)

I've never made homemade French toast. This looks amazing enough for me to try cooking again tomorrow.
Thanks! I mase this this afternoon for my kids and they loved it. I'm sick, so I couldn't taste a thing. Is the temperature supposed to be 350 degrees?
